TetraMap at the Eden Project

TetraMap Certification at the Eden Project

Nikki Davey

In July, members of the Association of Sustainability Practitioners joined trainers and facilitators from the Eden Project and other ethical organisations for a free taster workshop to learn about TetraMap® and how they might be able to use it in their work.

TetraMap is a simple but powerful tool that uses nature as a metaphor to help people understand themselves and others, to open minds and release potential. TetraMap enables people to understand themselves and others better, to look at situations and challenges from different perspectives, and to make the most of the diversity with their community, team or organisation. It is a framework for looking at ourselves, our colleagues, our workplaces and the world around us in order to live and work more sustainably.

The taster workshop was run by Nicki Davey, who is a Master TetraMap Facilitator and Director of Saltbox Training and Events, and was held at the Salthouse, a relaxed and inspiring rural training venue in the picturesque village of Nunney, in Somerset.

TetraMap is inspired by and modelled on the diversity and inter-dependence of nature, and aims to make a difference to individuals, communities and the world.  Creator John Brett says "My vision for TetraMap's future is world peace, where everyone respects each other and our fragile planet" - a vision which is closely aligned to that of ASP members.

For those who are interested in becoming Certified TetraMap Facilitators so that they can use this powerful but practical tool in their own work, Nicki will be running the next certification programme at the Eden Project in Cornwall. Click here for full details.

TetraMap brings the ancient wisdom of the elements into a powerful framework for personal and organisational development.  It is a way to harness the power of our natural abilities, build on strengths and enable everyone in the team to reach their potential. Using the four elements as a way to understand myself and the organisation has deepened my understanding of good leadership and given me a powerful tool for the future.”   Angie Burke, Trust Manager, The Resurgence Trust

TetraMap® is a registered trade mark of TetraMap International

"To date I've facilitated 24 TetraMap sessions since being accredited, each session bringing different learning and understanding every time.  I've witnessed some  momentous 'lightbulb' moments for some people, which makes my day.  The biggest win for me with TetraMap is that it's just so applicable in the workplace, delegates remember their preference, and are still having discussion about it 6 months down the line."

- Ally Wightman
Senior Leadership Development Consultant, Telefonica UK

"I always choose TetraMap as the model of behaviour because the feedback from delegates consistently reflects a positive experience and extremely high application back in the 'real world'.  It's reassuring to be approached by delegates from years gone by to be told how the experience has changed their lives for the better, both inside and outside of work."

- Dan Masters
Training Consultant

"It's a phenomenally powerful tool for managers to communicate more effectively with their team."

- Ben Long
Trainer, BSkyB

"We are delighted with the results which speak for themselves.  TetraMap is the most memorable take away from the Ignite programme.  We have used the model in our management training to help improve coaching skills, communication skills and how to recognise how the different elements behave under stress.  This has been invaluable in helping our managers develop their teams more effectively."

- Tessa Roff
Training Manager, Nationwide Building Society

TetraMap is probably one of the most power and simple tools I have come across to get people, teams and communities working together constructively and with massive speed and accuracy.
